WHAT DID WE SEE IN
AUGUST?
It’s hot and the yard is one big bed
A lot of sand in our Maisie!
That dog likes to feel like a rural West Virginian
As she takes over the winter den of foxes
It’s not just the garden she brings in
A yellow painted tortoise
A random flapping wren we chase out
Before it bashes its cranium against the panes
Back from the beach
We shake more than she does
That dog now supine
Shaded by the evergreens
Get us to the shower
A towel slip
Grandma!
We saw plenty of each other
