From “80 Fishes”

Bluefish

Twilight blue water indigo drift
waterloo sunset waves of waterlilies
sadness channels transoceanic rain sonatas
suzanne cries silhouette blossoms in june
diving bell blooms neptune atoll
azure slashes night to lambent dawn
bluebells in the middle of winter
then lake superior rose like a cloud

Swimmer
For S.

Breast stroke interlaces braids of rain
dragon-blades caress sparkling soft crystals
butterfly flutter cuts-across northern brook
cranes brokenhearted an oceanic sonnet
over ten-thousand waves mirroring starlight
ophelia cries melodious forests at nightfall
phoenix dive into teardrop estuary
body cradled skywards by dissolved stormclouds

Moonfish

A paperwhite waterfall of light
unearthly silver icicle phantoms underwater
evergreen needles solicit planetarium wraiths
mint lantern brightening orbital tombstone
secret ministry delegates midnight frost
soft coins hit seine like lilac nocturnes
night-flowering rivers bloom into clouds
lonely nightshift on the harvest armada

Rogue Wave

Darkness gathers over 5-fathoms shoal
heavens blanketed by hundred-year sleeper
whitecap mountain thousands of sirens screech
fractal avalanche swoons over mariners
white-cliffs-of-dover emerging out of darkness
a towering chaos of tortured water
killer three-sisters hold hands underwater
lighthouses wash away to great-lakes-graveyard
